After finding a hit in the early '90s as character of the dance-pop mathematical group Legacy of Sound, Meja went out on her possess and became quite a democratic solo pretend in Europe and Japan, though success in America was slower to come, unlike her Swedish comrades ABBA, Ace of Base and the Cardigans. Born close Stockholm, she was influenced by the music of her granddad, a hellenic composer, as well as soul icons wish Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles. She formed Legacy of Sound and co-wrote the group's world club hit "Glad, " just Meja had former plans; afterwards the group's dying, she began to tone down their hi-NRG trend with a vocal sound more in timber with soul and idle words. She hooked up with manufacturer Douglas Carr (1 of Base, Dr. Alban) and released her self-titled debut album in 1995. It went au in her native country and come to platinum in Japan. Her second album Seven Sisters was released in late 1997, and did about as easily as her debut. It received a tardy American release in the summer of 1999.
